Autumn Outfits ;Day 77
It has reached that time again where I have had a rather lazy day off and decided that I shall get all crafty with inspirational collages for outfit ideas. I always try and mix up my selection of well known brands so that each time I can get a nice mish-mash of clothes and ideas rather than sticking with the same ones each time.
Okaaaay, so my first outfit design is based around these rather ridiculously lovely shorts. I think the pattern is very vintage and statement screaming, which is a great foundation piece for this outfit. I decided to work around these and add a simple creamy/white shirt to really add the city chic streak to the whole look. With the shirt tucked into the shorts and the buttons fully buttoned up to the collar it can create a really smart finish, perfect for a city date or an important day.
The boots with the gold detailing will also draw the eye to the embroidery on the shorts as well as adding a little sparkle to the look. And of course, of course I have a bold lipstick. Rather than my usual red I've picked a deep cranberry colour but I also found that purples will work really well with this outfit too!!
So I know there is a LOT of black going on in this outfit!! I just felt that with the detail and sequin infested tee was a pretty big deal on it's own so I kept it very simple with the rest of the pieces. However, I did try and use lots of different materials just to add difference in other places. The jeans for example are almost a waxy fabric, which can be mistaken for disco pants or wet look leggings (my fave!!) and the jacket looks like it is made with felt. Two contrasting fabrics that are craving Autumn weather!! The gold detailing on the boots are also to reflect the pattern in the tee as well as adding a little more detail at the tips of the toes.
And last but far from least, my Boohoo inspirational collage addition. My main focus for this outfit is inspired by the purples and mauve colour's used in the detail of my chosen dress. As I've chosen such a colourful number I chose to stick with black accessories, which is quite a simple yet effective method of making an outfit pop this Autumn/Winter as a lot of dark colour's are coming back in for the season. I've also chosen a bowler style hat rather than a beanie as I think we are still able to make the most of those rims! Sometimes a bowler hat can add a slightly mysterious and elegant appeal to an outfit and especially if paired with a dress or skirt. Almost like the new, darker girl next door look?
Those are just a couple of outfits I have designed to hopefully inspire you for the upcoming season of layers and knits!! Just because it may be a little chilly does not mean we have to hibernate in our biggest, oversized jumpers and thick knit trackies! Layer in style girls, layer in styleeeeee!!
Cha'll for now. Peace&Love xoxox
