A Little Extra Something For Fathers Day

I just felt a little blogger buzz beginning in my fingers as I really wanted to write a post dedicated to this Sunday that comes around once a year in June called Fathers Day, something I'm sure we're all aware of.

For me, these days are very commercial and money based, which is why I'm not too keen on splashing the dosh on tack that will be loved until the next boot fair collection occurs.
I also don't have the main factor for this special day as I don't have a father. I mean.. of course I did have a father once otherwise I wouldn't be here..

This brings me to my next point.

Although I never grew up with a father around I was extremely blessed to have a terrific set of Grandparents who practically played my second parents. I spent an incredible amount of time growing up in their house, learning new skills and developing an overwhelming love for them, which you never realize you have until they're gone.
My Grandpa was my father figure and therefore this day is in celebration of everything he taught me and the unconditional love he gave me.
Yes.. I was a little Princess in his eyes but I mean a cheeky chocolate here and there never hurt anyone!

So I guess what I'm trying to say is these celebratory days shouldn't be the only time we realize the important people in our lives. I'm sure we can all relate to having someone we look up to or we admire for being a huge and important figure in our lives. They may not be blood related but the fact they're an incredible part our your life is all that matters.
